Which airport should I fly into?
There are 4 airports to choose from:
Knoxville, TN (1 hour away)
Asheville, NC (1 hour away)
Charlotte, NC (3 hours away) - Shuttle provided, see below
Atlanta, GA (4 hours away)
Rates vary. It's good to check individual airlines like Spirit Air, Jet Blue and Air Tran along with the travel sites like Orbitz, Expedia and Travelocity.

- What's the Dress Code? Dressy casual. Mind the heels, it'll be on not-so-flat grass. If you have ankles of steel, go for it.
- Should I bring cash? Yes, most of the local shops in the area only take cash. You won't need to worry about cabins or chain restaurants and gas stations. But we hope you'll support the locals.
- Do Native Americans still live in the area? Yes! The Cherokees in Western North Carolina today descend from those who were able to hold on to land they owned, those who hid in the hills, defying removal, and others who returned, many on foot.
